The end of the year had had so much promise, as well as many things in the near future to look forward to. Yet, Dal was beside herself. After the chaotic and abrupt end of the Winter Gala, she couldnt bring herself to feel any glee.
Her mother, her poor mother. Shed been a mess of emotion, the worst of which being her fury and paranoia. Shed been on the phone for hours checking in on the ones whom she was close, as well as going to console them in person. Dal- had been placed on house arrest, unable to even go home to her apartment.. It was a bitter reminder of the sheltered childhood shed had.
Shed tried to keep busy, calling her friends to check in on them and wish them a happy new years.. but she only had so many friends..and once that was done she couldnt bring herself to sit still.
Against Dyghori’s wishes, the young dragon slipped from the confines of the large home, leaving a note in case her mother returned before she did..and set off into the night. She made her way to the local park, spotting a newyears eve party consisting of all humans, they laughed and drank with eachother, likely reminiscing about the past year or maybe the one to come.. either way, she found herself envious of them.
Having a seat on a near park bench, she silently watched them. The smells of food and drink made her stomach tight, but she ignored the craving and remained seated. The hunger at the very least kept her mind occupied, Dal didnt enjoy feeling sorry for herself, but it was hard as this would be her first time spending new years on her own.
