These characters are for another story I have (also with no name lol) - about magical foxes who live in an entirely magical fox-inhabitated world, but due to a forbidden relationship (and magic portal buisness) these two end up teleported to earth.
Lucinia is the princess of the Light foxes- not only that, but the FIRST and ONLY born princess of the Light foxes- and the rare Sun fox variant of Light fox on top of that. Her exsistance has always been a big deal- such a big deal that her well being is often overlooked because of that. She has generational family issues stemming from her mother, who demand she follow tradition just as she had despite the difficulty Lucinia has following her mothers footsteps- but Lucinia hadn't gotten the chance to think much for herself until she met Esmeray, who was troubled and needed her help- instead of the other way around.
Esmeray is the youngest to-be knight of the Dark foxes - the highest role an average Dark fox could be-- but he can't seem to perform well in front of others. This makes him look like a constant mess-up, especially to his father, who seems to look towards him more sternly than he did towards his other (...many.) siblings- who teased him for his failures on top of that (and for being reactive and sensitive). He's frustrated by his own sensitivity, which he considers weakness, but his sensitive nature is exactly what makes him quick to fall in love with someone kind and patient like Lucinia, who unquestioningly trusted in his capability.
The two run away together once the two realize that their life together in secret isn't sustainable with the responsibilities of their lives- and they somehow end up traveling through a portal to earth.
