Unexpected Consequences
Rodolphus stepped out of the Dragon’s Nest and inhaled deeply of the night air. Despite the tensions of recent weeks, life was suddenly looking up for him. His marriage was stable. His brother was no longer an immediate threat to himself. He’d managed to find a new advice columnist- no matter that it was a half-breed monster like Fenrir Greyback- and he’d just learned he was going to be a father. Hence a celebratory evening with good whiskey and better cigars.
Then he turned his head and something stopped him in his tracks. A lone, pale figure, staring at him from the middle of the cobbled street, unmoving as others passed around him like a river parting for a boulder.
Rodolphus locked eyes with Remus Lupin and had only half a second to think “Well, shit” before everything burst into motion.
