This wasn’t the first time things hadn’t gotten according to plan. For an android designed to excel in calculation and preconstruction Connor often did find himself in situations he hadn’t accounted for. Most of the time because his eagerness got the better of him. He became so obsessed with his goals that he simply forgot to take a step back to assess the situation.
He had disobeyed orders to go off on his own. While wondering the industrial areas of Detroit it had all had gone terribly wrong when a building collapsed as he pushed through a broken wall. Disoriented he had stumbled further into the area until he’d lost his footing as a result of the damage. And then he was found by one of them. He recognized the android because it had been part of another android he had probed’s memory. He should have called for backup, and yet he hadn’t. Maybe this android, Simon, didn’t know who he was. He could only hope, but maybe he was being naïve.
His comment had been an attempt of sounding confident even though his system was overloaded with.. whatever that was. Fear? No, that was a sign of deviancy. It had to be something else. “I came here looking for someone,” he said, ignoring the offer of help. He needed to make sure the damage wasn’t causing any issues to his system, but that had to wait. “I’ve been told I’d find Jericho around here.” He still wasn’t entirely sure what exactly that name meant or who or what exactly it was. He only had pieces of shattered information and was still in a process of connecting the dots.
