In my warriors rewrite the clans are referred to as guilds. And instead of the guilds being separated like in the books, they all live in a society together. For example: the guilds live among loner cats but happen to make groups as well. They're allowed to mate with those outside of guilds and join a different guild if they want. But normally, the guilds don't get along because of their different ways of living and other drama. Except during gatherings of course.
