it really is so wild that the Woke Solution people apparently have to straight people taking over lgbt spaces and speaking over lgbt voices is to completely forget that closets exist and that people stay in them for a good goddamn reason, and instead to decide that you need to be 100% publicly out to everyone in the goddamn world before even remotely thinking about touching anything gay, even if it’s to use your own power as a ~straight-passing person~ to publicly lift up creators and voices who are openly out like… seriously. this is what we’re doing. this is what’s happening. being closeted is bad, out yourself immediately or shut up. okay cool.

remember that fucking tumblr post y’all loved that was like “why do GSAs even need to exist in schools why can’t they just be spaces for lgbt people only” “BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE CLOSETED, KAREN, and allowing someone to call themselves an ‘ally’ lets them explore this part of their identity and positively contribute to things they care about even if they’re not quite ready to publicly come out yet” lmao well I guess that empathy doesn’t extend past that one goddamn post huh… like i get that a celebrity is in a very different situation than a high school student in this scenario, but literally y’all really can’t think of a single reason why a celebrity might be afraid to come out? and you don’t think they deserve even a little of that same empathy? REALLY
