I was scrolling through your Myrielle tag and saw the one where anon asked about Aerion hurting and humiliating her despite her being from a strong house. It got me wondering if since the show released, namely episode 3, if that’s changed him parading his abuse publicly or not? Because it seems that he doesn’t care as long as Maekar isn’t present.

ive always kind of been of the opinion that the aerion maekar relationship is …. hmm . i don’t know . maekar is kind of the only person who likes aerion, even in their family - i think he’s ultimately kind of proud of aerion at least pre ashford!! he wants to show him off. aerion wants to be shown off. aerion wants dad to love him … that’s his evil demon labubu

and given he didn’t seem to have been punished for what he did to egg i can’t really see any way maekar punishes aerion for beating on his wife who essentially belongs to him legally either 😭 i see no universe where theyre not both like some pretty severe degree of misogynistic even if it manifests in different ways so i dont think either of them really care, beyond maekar probably not thinking its a good look . i can’t remember exactly what i said in that other post but i think it’d be less about just visible abuse out in public and more just making people kind of weirded out . he doesn’t beat her around people or anything but he does make a scene out of having a bastard around after lys, does enjoy making her uncomfortable, does hoot and holler when he thinks it’s earned etc and yeah it’s probably less prevalent when maekar is around but i also do think maekar knows and just doesn’t care that much .

it doesn’t help that the worst of it probably comes post-lys, when most of her family is dead, and the one living brother she has is off at casterly rock. nobody’s really there to gaf 😵‍💫

#i also just think as a baseline #abuse in westeros is very common #assault of most forms inside marriage isnt really like outlandish unless its extreme or public enough #so theres not much i feel like she could even expect maekar or gerold or whoever to do about it #shes from a great house but she is still a woman so her worth is never gonna be equal to her husband in most peoples eyes #unfortunately .#asks #txt #oc tag #myrielle tag
