Not too long after Jaden left, Conrad found himself making his way to one of the few places that he knew his friend liked to visit. Hoping to possibly see him and also apologize to him as well.
Besides, there was the matter of the news that he texted them about while they were gone but never got to actually tell them what the news was. At least not Aesen most of all.
But while on his way there, he was soon enough stopped in his tracks, he could sense something powerful...and magical in nature nearby, it wasn't the aura that Jaden or the others had at all, no...it was more of that of any normal mage...that was if the mage wasn't trying to kill him, nearly avoiding what seemed to be a lightning bolt that was aimed right where he was standing earlier.
Damn, he wasn't in the mood for a fight at all, even as it seemed like a few others surrounded him, all of them garbed in similar clothing. Hypothesizing that they were going after him since it looked like a couple of them carried silver weapons on them as well.
If that was the case and they knew what he was, he couldn't hold back entirely. Though he had no desire to kill any of them. Besides, he had to at least make sure to interrogate one of them to know just what was going on at some point. It was then that he tried to focus, casting his own magic to freeze the ground around him and all of the mages in place...
...and yet nothing happened.
It felt almost like his own magic was being suppressed, it was still welled up within him, but no amount of focusing or incantations would bring it to surface.
In other words, he was useless in this battle. He had almost always relied on his magic, even with learning some physical combat from Aesen, he still used his magic to make himself a weapon to fight with. And..he hated trying to use his more monstrous traits to defend himself with.
To only make matters worse, he could see one of the mages conjure up a fire spell of some kind, the vampire rooted in his spot in fear as he saw the conjuring flame.
He knew there wasn't much he could do now...his own fear was telling him to run, but he couldn't move either...
