SELFi.e was (wo)manorial's fourth online exhibition that ran from July 14, 2013 – October 19, 2013.
SELFi.e. approaches concepts of the feminine self in a world saturated by the “selfie.”
28 artists utilize the self both literally and figuratively within their work and collectively provide a snapshot of today’s “me”–an individual inundated by popular culture and social media, in collaboration with technology. Stepping into the territory of the contemporary on- and offline self, the artists point towards a dilemma of a genre that is both giving the empowerment to a personality and diminishing individual attempts within the hyper-production of “selves.”
