He really needs to get Ekko back in shape after all of that energy drainage those mad scientists probably did on him so that’s exactly what’s being done at this very moment.
“Alright, not bad.” Brendan says and with the back of his gloved hand he wipes at the stinging red bruised skin of his cheek. “Your razor leaf isn’t as steady nor isn’t as strong anymore.” Brendan barely even dodged a few of those razor leaves and all it really managed to hurt him was his cheek, which isn’t a full flesh wound. It’s almost like the starting of a bad scrape, which those often just heal on their own after a day or a few days. “They really did you a good one didn’t they?” It’s not something worth answering since they both know the answer to it to which Ekko seems angered about and he might not be showing it but Brendan’s pretty upset too. All of that training and hard work gone. Of course starting from square one is never an issue, if anything it gives them a more open view on things they might have missed before. But this? This is cruel theft. “Don’t be upset alright?” He smiles, trying to stay positive for his friend who looks at Brendan with hopeful eyes.
“Just like old times, we’ll get you there again.” He promises, Ekko seeming to cheer up once more. “Alright, hit me with that razor leaf again..if you can anyway.” He challenges with a feigned mocking smirk to motivate him a bit more. To anybody who might be watching this scene, it might as well just be some small animal attacking a defenseless kid or something.
