mimi is one of those people that you end up missing and looking for when she’s not on the dash –– and that’s not just because her writing is goshdarn flawless, every time, though that is one of the reasons –– but it’s actually because at this point it feels like my dash is staggeringly incomplete without her presence. 

see, part of what makes roleplaying fun is having the opportunity to witness people’s innate talents, just as what takes it from just being fun to being an amazing experience is getting to meet people as good and wonderful as mimi has been. throughout all of the crazy that was 2016, i’m immensely proud of her for keeping strong even when it must’ve been extremely difficult, and i’m even more thankful that i have the opportunity to call her my friend. 

merry christmas, mimi. i’m hoping you have an amazing day today, and that the world treats you kindly, just as you deserve. 🎅🏼

kylie and i have been mutuals for –– honestly, since what feels like from when i made my first indie blog (but my memory is really foggy so that might’ve happened a few months later than that, ngl). i remember being so enamoured with her portrayal of dean, and after that getting extremely excited to write with her when she made an isaac and i had my kira, because kylie is the type of person you’d be lucky to have a chance to thread with, considering how well thought out her portrayals are, how it feels like these characters are real and alive and not just caricatures or whatever overly played out tropes could apply to them. no, she takes these muses and makes them whole, which is an immensely amazing feat, if i do say so myself.

and up until now, years after the fact, that excitement hasn’t faded –– when i see her on my dash, replying to a thread with her almost hypnotic writing, or even just dropping by to say hello ... i get inexplicably happy. like, dancing-in-my-seat, big-grin-on-my-face kind of happy, because that’s what kylie’s effect on people really is: she stuns you with her jaw-dropping prose that’s never too much, never too little, but really –– you stay for her, kind and big-hearted and devoted that she is, both to the people around her and the muses that she writes. it is nothing short of inspiring, tbh.

i know that 2016 has been a trying year in general, and i am so, so proud of kylie for powering on through, despite the difficulties. it’s almost over, though, and i hope with all of me that the christmas season treats you well as befits the utter good in your heart –– just as i hope that you’re surrounded with love and light as the year closes, stretching into the years to come.

now it’s time 4 my favourite german dude to get his christmas cheer,,,, ricardo manuelito !! 

before i’d gotten to write with richard on my kira blog (rip thvnderfox), i’d been lowkey intimidated because of how fleshed out the characters that he wrote were (this was a time when ‘koala-tea’ was a rampant saying, if i remember correctly, and i was unfortunately an intense user of it rip) –– he wrote parrish during the time when the tw fandom didn’t even know what his first name was, and somehow managed to make an extremely well-thought backstory for a character that we only ever got a few oneliners from before then. i remember having the hardest time adjusting to the name change when it was finally revealed because in my head, richard’s portrayal of parrish was canon, which meant that for me his name was james, richard’s chosen name for him, and not jordan. to this day i still think the tw writers must’ve made a mistake about that : ))

this devotion and attention-to-detail didn’t just apply to jordan. it applied to the many, many muses that richard had, spanning fandoms over the years –– leading now to his unsurprisingly fantastic portrayal of magnus bane. 

that aside: i’m pretty sure i’ve known richard for two years and counting now, and lemme tell you –– richard is such a good dork. he’s the kind of friend where even if you don’t talk for a while, you can just pick up where you left off, no awkwardness, no nothing. he’s one of the most chill people i’ve met on this site, super approachable and helpful if you ever need something, be it coding help or even just a random chat. i mean, he watched mulan with me mostly because i got so scandalised when he said he hadn’t watched it yet and put up with that rollercoaster of a movie and my happy singing along to it, so if that doesn’t tell you he’s a super cool cucumber, i dunno what will lmao.

i think the reason why i love richard so much is that seeing him on my dashboard is an indirect reminder of how fun rping is –– no drama, just lots of good times with people who are just as enthusiastic to write with you as you are with them. my dash experience wouldn’t be complete without him –– guess that’s why i’ll always follow him wherever blog he goes, no questions asked. 🎅🏼
