SHE IS!!!!! technically she's a rhaenyra & alicent oc but for the vast majority of the fic she "chooses" alicent (or at least rhaenyra perceives it that way) and i love my scheming little bean dearly

🎧 A certain song you listened to while writing a fic?

when writing for ‘oculus’ i listen to right where you left me almost constantly because it is tessa’s theme song and i just sit there crying while writing these scenes of her discovering and rediscovering her identity it’s HEARTBREAKING and i love it dearly.

✍🏽 How much do you plan your fics beforehand?

recently i’ve been pantsing all of my newer fics bc Mental Illness but usually i prefer to have a fic fully planned-out before i even start writing it. for my vampire diaries fic ‘somewhere’ i have all eight seasons of the show written into a document that is roughly 30k words long and i cry over it regularly. ‘oh, captain!’ is almost completely planned out. undead queens, inkpot gods, seaborne, homecoming & beautiful ghosts, hello sunshine etc are all planned out.

sweats nervously bc i haven’t written anything really new in a long time uhhhh this is from the next chapter of oculus!!

   THERE WERE DAYS ( not many, Tessa would admit, but they did exist ) when she wonders what, exactly, possessed her to undertake a career as a live-in nanny.

    Perhaps because she likes children ━ not the prerequisite you'd think was necessary, because when Henry was in nursery some of the other babysitters seemed to loathe their charges ━ and is, somehow, incredibly good with them.

    Perhaps it was never a choice at all, but merely an opportunity that landed in her lap not long after she got out of hospital, when the kindly mayor who'd took a peculiar interest in Tessa's wellbeing, the woman who'd gotten her a job at small local bookstore and co-signed the lease on her apartmnt, said hey, I'm adopting a baby, why don't you come by for an interview?

    The rest was history, but one thing remains perfectly clear ━

    ━ if her dear darling charge keeps disappearing, she will seriously consider a change in career.
