"thanks," her voice is a touch scratchy as hands are scrubbed from her eyes to her cheeks. smears of eyeliner and mascara litter her face and serena smiles despite red-rimmed eyes, "but i don't know if i can even trust my heart anymore. all it seems to lead to is more heartache." serena pauses and then buries her face in her hands, "oh, god, that was so melodramatic."

serena pauses, her eyes wide and a touch unsure before they settle into something more steely. this is far from the first time someone has snuck into somewhere they shouldn't be to try and snap a photo of her. it's never fun, but not new. "no, that'll cause even more problems than it'll solve," a manicured hand shifts to brush a few strands of displaced blonde hair, "let's just get out of here."

"it's barely trespassing," the smile on her face is evident in her voice, even before serena looks over her shoulder to peer at hamza, "besides, can you even call it that when i have the keys?" the sound of a lock turning over, click, and then a jingle as serena holds up the keys dangling from her fingers. "it'll be fine, i promise. my mom practically keeps this place in business, so even if we are caught it'll be no big deal."
