"Just   seems   like   a   bullshit   excuse   to   me   to   not   get   attached   to   humans.   How   is   that   working   out   for   you   so   far?"   There   is   a   slight   tremor   on   his   hand   as   he   removes   his   glasses,   the   interview   done   for   the   day   and   having   an   off   the   record   as   it   was   usual   between   the   two.      Eyes   shift   toward   Louis,   a   knowing   looking   passing   through   the   edges   of   his   eyebrows,   amused   at   best.   "Because   I   think   you   are   doing   a   shitty   job   at   it."

"thanks," her voice is a touch scratchy as hands are scrubbed from her eyes to her cheeks. smears of eyeliner and mascara litter her face and serena smiles despite red-rimmed eyes, "but i don't know if i can even trust my heart anymore. all it seems to lead to is more heartache." serena pauses and then buries her face in her hands, "oh, god, that was so melodramatic."

showing up unexpectedly after many, many years was oz's specialty (time was sometimes a blur after all). not that most people would call it that — annoyance, maybe. but either way, he's come to find that when he pops up as so in louis' presence that there's more of a welcome charm to it. oz feels less that he's intruded on him and more as if he's been expecting him instead.

he takes a seat beside louis, eyes trailing to follow where he seems to have his attention drawn at the moment. there's a soft laugh and a shake of his head, tongue clicks against the roof of his mouth. " still always on the search i see... " he trails off, not bothering to answer the question asked.

The Corinthian inhales sharply, almost a hiss. He knows what this man wants from him: knows what he is, has done from the moment they laid eyes on one another in the evening dark. Whether or not Louis will get it is another matter. A nightmare is no easy meal, this one least of all, and the Corinthian mislikes being hunted by those he considers his prey.

"Now, slow down, will you?" Easy enough to resist the tug of Louis' hand in his hair, even with a vampire's strength. The Corinthian fixes him with a smile that does not come close to reaching its hidden eyes. Its hand reaches back to curl around Louis' wrist, prying the hand from its hair. "There's no rush."
