I was thinking about the last episode of OUAT, and I’m wondering if there is any such person as Hook or if he is simply a reflection of who he is with. I’m trying to figure it out.

He seems to be whatever those around him want him to be. Is there any steel to him or is he all clay? Of course, with the frankly horrible writing it’s hard to figure out who anyone is on the show these days. Though for most of them we can point to a core characterization and Hook’s seems to be ‘love be the one you’re with.’

Oh. Hook changed his clothes. I've been looking at spoiler pictures this morning and I didn't...uh notice. Huh.

Now that I have noticed, I can see why I didn't because it's basically the same? Less costumey I guess? But black and leather and he has a jacket (shorter but there). Hmmm...I was hoping for a more dramatic change. But we can't have that. Push him too far out of his look and the network will get scared.

Maybe the difference will be more obvious with clearer pictures and better lighting. (Such pictures may exist already - all the ones I've seen are in the dark and a bit blurry or small.)
