there are far too many things in the world that the likes of kala hasn’t experienced yet – meat, for one, although she’s quite sure she’s not supposed to break a nineteen year diet in the name of freedom…maybe; but everything else, everything that the air temple didn’t have to offer—which as it seems, was a lot—everything was going to go on her list of things to do.
starting with this—public bathhouse she had stumbled into after hours of blindly wandering about. she’s not entirely familiar with the concept, but it seemed simple enough when explained to by the kind old woman that worked there. it’s just a public place to bath – and yet, kala is far too excited as she trots down the hall to the baths, bright eyes fixated on the items in the small wooden bucket she was given to carry everything. the lady must have taken a liking to her, if anything, there was a shower cap and everything!
it is with complete obliviousness that she forgoes the instructions given earlier to enter the right entrance instead, taking care to set the bucket down as she strips down, humming a lighthearted tune all the while. it didn’t take long for the airbender to be completely bare, moving to stash everything in one of the lockers before walking her way toward the wide open space of the bathhouse – lax in movement, if anything, seeing as (in accordance to the woman that worked there) it wasn’t “rush hour” for another hour or so. which the bender honestly doesn’t realize – not until the very last second when she steps into the area and her eyes set on exposed skin of another—so much skin—that the lady was wrong.
she’s so wrong.
THAT. IS. A. GUY.
she squeaks despite herself, finally acting past the shock that seizes her as she pivots on her heel to leave—only to be stopped by a parade of footsteps, face turning white at the very male voices approaching as her stomach drops. oh god. oh god. “oh god.” needless to say kala was freaking out – nerves getting the best of her as she thinks of nothing—nothing the slightest comes to mind—as to what to do.
what should she do.
WHAT SHOULD SHE DO?
her eyes turn to the sole male in the large tub, pink in the face as pleading eyes stubbornly fixate on his features—
help.
