Nothing explains the main difference between TOS Kirk and AOS Kirk to me as accurately as their f! fancast:

These guys have the same energy! Lauren Bacall is undoubtedly my one and only fancast on f!Kirk. I honestly think a lot about my f!Spirk headcanon, and the further along it goes, the more noir it becomes.
I recently came across this absolutely fantastic page with scans of photographs from the Middle East (most of which date back to the first half of the last century), and now I just can't stop thinking about f! Ali ibn El Kharish.
Just passing by to say that in my head rent free lives Rachel Weisz as f! Thorin (gifs from here):
It so happened that I was recently passing by this post, and it was "oh OP, you're absolutely right, this looks amazing!" even though I'm not even a John/Sherlock shipper (i.e., I totally agree that it's canon, and I like Sherlock as a character, but it's not my OTP at all). But as an art nerd (my professional flaw), I also thought "oh, it's Some Little Talk of Me and Thee There Was by Harry Watrous" and I absolutely adore this thing! And I have to admit that this f/f John/Sherlock version really works for me, I mean, just look at it:
I generally think we are sorely lacking in iconic female detectives (and even those that do, receive less attention than male detectives), so the idea of f! Sherlock, or any other "reflection on the subject," has incredible potential for me. Let's just talk about a brilliant autistic queer woman in the 19th century who is completely incapable of existing within the constraints of her time, and who leads a semi-bohemian, semi-hermitic life, avoiding marriage and "womanly duty" with all her might, and a talented nurse, a typical Englishwoman of her time, who would really like something more in her life, and who is brought together by circumstances as a roommate with this absolute weirdo who thinks she's a detective. There's a lot of room for interpretation here, to be honest, but I imagine it goes something like this (and this is me with the new fancast again):
Emma Mackey as f! Sherlock Holmes / Eliza Scanlen as f! John Watson
or Maia Mitchell as f! John Watson
(all gifs from here / here / here / here / here) !!!
Ever since I watched 'Baby' a few years ago, I've been thinking that Niccolò Rossi, played by Lorenzo Zurzolo, is actually very Nathan Prescott. Gosh, they both even have this moment:
I found this photo in color, and my first thought was, of course, Jen Kirk's academy years!
I watched the new Supergirl trailer, and I have to say that it was very, very much in the spirit of my Jenny (f! AOS Kirk):
