CLOSED STARTER for @kurthq ⭐
It may have been the big homecoming game, but Rachel wasn't so much concerned with what was happening out on the field. Instead, she had barely been there for ten minutes before she'd decided to track down Kurt Hummel in the stands.
She had been saving up her gripes over the past week, attempting to be a team player, but after Mr. Schuester had once again overlooked her for a spotlight moment that she clearly deserved, she'd had enough. She'd barely been able to contain her impulse to storm out of the room earlier that day, but she'd managed to instead save up that energy until just that moment.
"Kurt!" she called out loud enough to know she couldn't possibly be ignored. "A word?"
As co-captain of the team, he was required to hear her out. Therefore, Rachel made sure to sit down next to him before he could give a proper response.
Alas, she was unable to even manage a fake smile in his direction. The sorry state of her show choir was simply too distressing.
"I have serious concerns about the current state of New Directions," she began, launching immediately into her prepared remarks. "Firstly, I think Professor Schuester is still punishing me from when I quit last time. It doesn't make sense to just have me swaying in the background. As I'm sure you're aware, there are plenty of folk musicals - I could have taken a solo during Stick Season, at minimum. Second, I think we really need to practice in a room with mirrors, because I can't be the only one noticing that there are a couple of members spinning on 1 and 3 instead of 2 and 4. I've been doing some research about other show choirs and if we're even going to make it past Sectionals, we really have to be putting our best foot forward. Finally, I have some concerns about our song selection in general."
