At least I know now that if I ever needed to run away, all I would have to do is cut my hair and no one would recognize me. I think the only real drawback is some of my customers think I look like a narc now, though to be honest, I feel like a narc now.
Remind me again why homecoming is a thing ? If I wanted to look at posters of people with vacant dead-eyed stares, I'd have gone to the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards afterparty. I'd also go there if I wanted to see some mouth-breathing athletes hopped up on HGH and molly slam into each other repetitively. At least it's a good excuse for a cute outfit. And I don't need to tell you that voting for anyone other than Quinn Fabray is quite literally the dumbest thing you could do.
Ryder hadn't planned on going to the party, it had been a last minute invite through a friend of a friend. He had even been debating heading back to his dorm when a flash of blonde hair by the door caught his eye.
Suddenly, staying for another drink didn't seem like such a bad idea as he watched Kitty making her way through the party. It had been months since they had last spoken, but he still found himself wanting to go and talk to her, to hang out with her again.
Ryder knew his presence wouldn't exactly be welcomed, which is why he kept his distance until precisely the moment that the tequila removed the last of his inhibitions and gave him just a bit more courage than he deserved.
He waited for the right opportunity to get Kitty on her own, following her into the kitchen with the excuse of grabbing another drink.
"Hey," Ryder smiled. "Long time, no see," He added as he reached for a can of beer from the side.
GENERAL NOTES ➤ Sam and Blaine hangout on Live and get ready for Homecoming.
Sam looked around the room once with a nod, having cleaned extensively beforehand and made sure anything he had out wasn’t going to get him in trouble with the powers that be at TikTok. He then waved Blaine in, but made sure the Warbler was out of frame from his phone’s camera lens even if it wasn’t on just yet. “Do you want to use the bathroom and do your hair in there first before you come out?” He knew the other didn’t want the sight of his ungelled hair released to the masses. If they reacted how Sam did when he’d first seen him without hair gel, he might be doing damage control for most of the Live.
Once Blaine was tucked away in the en suite, the blond took a deep breath then started the livestream with a few quick taps on his phone. “Hey everyone, Sam here! Me and Blaine are over at my house getting ready for Homecoming.” He did a small wave of his hand in hello before pointing off camera. “Blaine has to do his hair before coming out here ‘cause if you saw him before that…” The blond shook his head with a fond smile, hand rubbing the back of his neck. “You definitely wouldn’t recognize him, I didn’t,” he laughs, launching into the story of how he’d tried to blow off Blaine, not realizing it was Blaine.
“Anyways, while we’re gathered here to get ready for the most part, the other thing on the agenda is getting him to make an account.” Sam goes on as he starts to style his hair in the mirror by his desk, occasionally glancing at his phone to read comments and reply out loud before going back to the task at hand. “He’s still not too sure about it, but how many of you guys want to see more of this guy?” His hair finished, Sam grabs his phone and rolls his chair as Blaine walks out of the bathroom, his hair now styled with an impressive amount of gel.
What a night. Things were just getting better and better, if you asked him. The football team actually managed a win, with or without some extra help, who’s to say. Dottie was back in his arms, being extra clingy and his best friend was by his side. He even complimented Brett’s new look! He was sure his girlfriend would tell him something about it later, right now he knew she was just distracted by something on the other side of the room. That aside, Brett couldn't think of a way to make the night better. Mostly because he knew he was definitely going to be able to sell all of his product by the end of it, so he had no other reason to be worried tonight.
Sure, there was still lingering tension festering between the trio, which had only increased when Brett left them alone. He'd almost asked about it, but figured it was better not poke the cocaine bear. Especially since Jacob still refused to call his girlfriend by her actual name and then there was Dottie, who kept making digs at his friend’s lack of a date. He knew nothing was ever perfect though, c'est la vie.
Brett had learned long ago that sometimes you had to power through, even if you didn’t want to, but really it was no hardship for him to be between the two people he cared about most. He rocked back on his heels and gave them his brightest smile.
"So, do any of you want some punch? Sue is still hovering over it so it should be safe."
Once the song ended, Brittany gave their partner a quick wave and got out of there. The guy had stepped on their feet twice. They wondered if they could find Jake or even Mike for a dance that wouldn’t disappoint. They scanned the room, but only saw one lone figure sitting off to the side. With a snap of their fingers, the Cheerio with the neck brace was by their side instantly, camera ready. “Let’s go.”
They’d already shot a lot of footage since arriving at the dance, even getting some of Sue’s bowl getting spiked by Lauren. Not to mention the fiasco of crowning the new Homecoming Queen, but they’d definitely lacked any interviews post game, which was why Brittany was making their way over to their fellow Glee Clubber. “Rachel!”
They took a seat next to her and held up their small mic. “If you’re still watching after our short commercial break about the dangers of feline AIDS, I’m Brittany and I’m here with the one and only Rachel Berry. So, Rachel, tonight seems to be the night for the underdogs, but here you are sitting like a sad galago. What gives? Did they stop making your favorite animal print sweaters?”
