one  thing  i  always  struggle  with  when  making  pokémon  muses  is  thinking  of  interesting  and  new  occupations  for  them ,     besides  the  obvious  of  just  being  a  trainer .     there  are  a  lot  of  other  things  for  your  muses  to  do  /  be ,     so  i  decided  to  make  a  list  of  some  canon  jobs  that  we’ve  seen ,     and  some  i  thought  of  and  think  would  be  interesting  /  work  well  within  the  pkmn  world ,     as  well  some  short  descriptions  of  what  they  are !     i  left  out  a  lot  since  anything  you  can  be  in  the  real  world  you  can  obviously  be  in  pokémon ,     so  these  are  specifically  jobs  that  are  oriented  towards  working  with  pokémon .

pokémon  coordinator

──     a  pokémon  coordinator  participates  in  contests  with  their  pokémon ,     focusing  on  aspects  of  them  other  than  battling ,     such  as  their  physical  attributes .

pokémon  stylist

──     pokémon  stylists  style  pokémon ,     whether  it’s  giving  them  accessories  or  grooming  their  fur .     some  stylists  are  specialized  in  one  pokémon  breed ,     such  as  furfrou  groomers  in  kalos .

pokémon  ranger

──     rangers  work  with  protecting  wild  pokémon  against  poachers  and  natural  disasters .     they  typically  only  have  one  partner  pokémon ,     and  team  up  with  other  wild  pokémon ,     but  let  them  go  /  release  them  once  they’ve  helped .     they  train  at  ranger  schools .

pokémon  performer

──     a  female  only  class ,     pokémon  performers  differ  from  coordinators  in  that  the  trainer  is  also  involved  in  the  performance .     instead  of  contests ,     they  perform  in  showcases .     there  are  different  themes  in  the  first  round  as  well ,     so  performers  must  be  multi  -  talented  and  perfectly  in  sync  with  their  pokémon .

pokémon  breeder

──     breeders  train  and  mate  pokémon  in  order  to  raise  the  best  of  the  best ,     such  as  shinies ,     high  ivs ,     moves ,     or  natures .     they  also  specialize  in  nutrition  for  pokémon ,     and  handle  the  styling  as  well .

pokémon  doctor

──     a  doctor ,     but  specifically  for  pokémon .     different  from  a  nurse  joy ,     who  is  actually  a  chansey’s  assistant !

pokévision  star

──     used  primarily  as  trainer  pr  videos ,     they  can  also  be  used  as  promotional  tools  for  performers .     headcanon  wise ,     i  imagine  them  to  also  be  similar  to  tiktok !!

pokémon  connoisseur

──     primarily  located  in  the  unova  region ,     a  connoisseur  assesses  the  bond  between  a  trainer  and  a  pokémon ,     then  advises  them  on  how  to  strengthen  that  bond .     those  with  shops  also  help  beginner  trainers  choose  a  fitting  starting  pokémon .     they  are  licensed  and  given  badges  by  the  pokémon  connoisseur  association  based  on  their  class ,     which  can  be  raised  after  a  successful  evaluation .     there  are  four  classes ,  the  bottom  being  c  for  begginners  and  s  for  top  ranked ,     expert  connoisseurs .     a  connoisseur  may  open  a  shop  once  they  are  a  class .

operators

──     operators  provide  support  to  pokémon  rangers  who  work  in  the  field  by  keeping  an  eye  on  them  from  the  ranger  base  &  charging  their  capture  stylers .     they  train  at  ranger  schools .

mechanics

──     mechanics  provide  support  to  pokémon  rangers  who  work  in  the  field  by  studying  machinery  and  repairing  capture  stylers  when  they  break ,     among  other  technical  oriented  jobs .     they  train  at  ranger  schools .

gym  trainer

──     gym  trainers  are  the  trainers  that  battle  you  prior  to  a  gym  leader ,     specializing  in  that  gym’s  type .     they  often  highly  respect  the  gym  leader  they  work  for ,     and  take  care  of  mundane  tasks  in  the  gym .     they’re  also  like  gym  leader  assistants .

lab  assistant

──     these  researchers  typically  work  in  the  field  for  their  respective  professors ,     and  sometimes  are  in  training  /  mentees  to  them  in  preparation  to  become  a  professor  themselves .

team  villain  grunt

──     the  lowest  level  in  these  villain  organizations ,     they  aren’t  always  bad .     they  can  be  fun  to  explore  with  gray  -  morality ,     since  in  canon ,     many  don’t  even  know  the  truth  of  what  their  leaders  are  doing .

farmer

──     this  covers  a  wide  array  of  occupations ,     but  i  wanted  to  add  it  in  nonetheless  because  i  so  rarely  see  farmer  muses  !!     your  muse  could  be  in  dairy  specifically ,     grow  berries  for  different  pokémon ,  etc. !
