as a bi lady who is also dating and often ships with her s/o and has three bi muses .... I just wanna say that i think you're super valid and have solidarity. bisexuals are no less bi if they date the opposite sex and headcanons are just that HEADcanons. I know jack shit about rwby but I've always liked seeing you on my dash. ♥️

love that bi solidarity. are the majority of the characters i roleplay headcanoned as bi ?  yes !  is this a common thing for writers of muses that identify as lgbt+ ?  yes !  so i don’t see why it’s suddenly unacceptable for me to do the same, except i do know why, and it entirely has to do with the fact that the relationship involves the opposite sex. this whole thing has really made me second-guess things about my writing that i shouldn’t be made to second-guess, and that’s Not Cool™ — but you and so many other mutuals have been really supportive, and that means the world to me !!

hey!! this is a little late, but i want to say thank you about talking about your experience as a female bi rper with a bi muse. i'm a woman and bi myself, with bi muses too, and it was really uplifting to see what you said. Your writing is fabulous, no matter what anyone says, and i hope you have an amazing week

aaaaa i wish i knew who you were so i could let you know i answered this — and that i read this and it means the world to me, no matter how long after the situation you send it! 

i’m really, really glad what i’ve said has helped you in some way… it’s been genuinely emotional for me to see just how many people were affected in a positive way because their experiences have been so negative. a time or two i had to step away because i just felt so… seen, but sad about it. i hate that we have shared experiences on this issue, but if it gives me a means to lift someone up and tell them they aren’t alone — and that it’s absolute bullshit — then i’m glad for it, too. does that make sense?

at any rate, thank you so much for complimenting my writing, too! it means a lot to me. never stop writing bi muses, or lgbt+ muses in general, because it’s the kind of rep we need. don’t let anyone tell you you’re doing it wrong — it’s your sexuality, it’s your character, and you’re doing everything right!

● : which time of day do you rp best ?

           WEIRD   thing about that --- my sleeping schedule’s totally out of whack because my fiance works the graveyard shift and I’m all... Mushy and in love with him and stuff, so even when I try and sort it out, I tend to subconsciously strain to stay up for him. When I was in college, morning was by far my most productive time; I could literally save a 6-page paper for the morning of and have it finished in a couple hours max. ( for the people wondering how I sometimes reply at the speed of sound ?? that’s the english major procrastination combined with crushingly low levels of self-esteem that makes it almost impossible for me to double-check my work babeyyy ! )  So when I’m actually awake ?  I’m super productive and pump out the most consistent stuff in the morning. Buuut these days I’m rarely up in the mornings, so I do most of my writing in the late afternoon / early evening. 

♠ : how many muses do you have ?

           I have four at the moment !  There’s Ruby obviously; Emerald Sustrai from the same series over @sustray ; Tsubaki Yayoi from Blazblue over @camelliacried​ ; and Candice Catnipp from Bleach over @galvanoblasts . I’ve got a whole graveyard’s worth of past muses/blogs, though, and I change my roster in the group pretty often... I would say Tsubaki and Ruby are my oldest/most consistent in the group at the moment ! 

♫ : is there any kind of muse you can’t play ?

           For me personally... While I can play villains, and have, I just can’t really enjoy playing irredeemable ones --- particularly if that’s by way of abusive behavior, or they’re just completely morally bankrupt. I just don’t get any enjoyment out of it at best, and at worst it runs into triggering territory for me depending on the content. Those are the type that first come to mind, anyway --- I’m sure there’s other kinds I can’t play well, but those are the type I just don’t even feel drawn to attempt. My flavors typically come in two types: protagonists/heroines with hearts of gold and ass of dumb, or antiheroes that’re trying their best but just really want to kill somebody in particular.

♯  : is there any kind of muse you’d like to play, but don’t dare ? why ?

           NOT   so much that I wouldn’t dare, because I’ve considered it --- but once upon a time I did play Black Widow / Natasha... But like, MCU version. It’s someone I’ve thought of bringing back maaany times but... The MCU rp scene wasn’t the greatest at the time, it all felt kind of closed-off to new people ??  And I know there’s a lot of Negative Feelings about her actress, which are totally valid --- so I just don’t know if I’d be willing to deal with the hassle, you know ??

           Another muse I’ve wanted to take up forever now is H*rmione Gr*nger, focusing mostly on the movie version --- but that’s my actual childhood along with many others, so I generally get cold feet and don’t even Think about going there LKHGHG

           YOU   know, I actually haven’t given it much thought !  I guess the typical high school AU where no one FUCKING dies comes to mind... Although --- one I’m fond of in art for various fandoms that would definitely be interesting to write is that AU concept where the show is... Just a show ??  Like everyone’s just actors/actresses ?  I think it’d be interesting to navigate; who’s exactly like the character they play, who’s the exact opposite, what’re the dynamics behind the scenes, etc. I think it’d be pretty wild when it comes to RWBY !

♦  : what can k word your muse/inspo ?

            MMMM   my writing is pretty tied to my mood --- or more accurately, my mental health. Sometimes being in a bad mood isn’t a real deterrent because writing on Ruby... improves my mood --- but depression is a funny thing, so usually if the slump is coming, my writing takes the first hit. So yeah --- when the depression or anxiety spikes up, I’m more likely to just lay on the couch or respond to one or two selective things/people. 

♪  : name three (3) things absolutely mandatory for you to rp ! 

            MUSIC   is at the very top of the list. I literally can’t write without it, it fuels me. In general I usually listen to the autoplay on my blog ( which is why it’s so massive rip to anyone else that might sit on my theme ), but other than that, spotify’s my best friend. It may seem contradictory, but the second thing I need is zero distractions. What I mean by that is... kinda like I portray Ruby to be ( because I recognize a lot of her mannerisms in my own reactions to it ), I have trouble with auditory processing. I can get in a ‘sensory overload’ kind of state really easily, especially with noise; on top of that, my PTSD gives me symptoms that closely mimic ADHD. So if there’s other things going on --- a tv on, interfering sound, whatever --- it just really fries my brain. As you can imagine, doing college course work was reaaally fun before I moved in with my fiance. 

            I really can’t think of a third thing tbh --- those are the two big ones for me !  I guess if I was pressed, uh... Something to drink nearby ?

so i think your ruby is pretty great? I like how you handle her hopeful optimism with those doses of bitter reality she's had to face. It feels very natural. She's trying her best. also it's very charming how you write her enthusiasm about the things she likes. very cute. she care! she care so much.

           AAAAA  thanks so much !!!  This is actually one of the things I try hardest on, aside from doing my best to capture her dialogue. I know our view is limited with the show and the way it needs to carry things along, but I feel like something that can be easily overlooked is the fact that beneath it all she... Still is very much a normal girl. That’s the whole point, y’know ?  From volume one, she’s wanted to do her best --- but as a normal girl with ‘normal knees’. She’ll embrace her power and use it to do extraordinary things, but I’ve always considered the ‘a simple, honest, ordinary person can do amazing things’ notion to be an important one --- both to the show and in a lot of literature, ie Tolkien. 

           I’m rambling but --- I just really want to keep hitting that balance of a normal girl that’s unfortunately seen and dealt with a lot of things she shouldn’t. SHE CARE SO MUCH... I’m glad I don’t go too overboard when she gets worked up or excited about something !  I love your Oz too; I can tell his time in mfrp has taken its toll, but I still absolutely hear him in your dialogue. I’m so glad to see you back in the group again !!
