Maki was the only person Mai ever had to lean on and in their fight during chapter 47 her repeatedly saying she ‘hates’ Maki is Mai trying to kill her feelings, that’s why it hurts so much ;(

All Mai wanted was to live out her life with Maki as servants because nothing else mattered to her, Maki left and she tried to follow her because she loves her
