Stop being outraged about Videogames, Dangit!
I was already tired of this when I was a little kid! Yes, competitive video games increase competitive behavior, just like competitive sports! However, they don’t raise the likelihood of a normal healthy individual becoming violent. In children and teenagers, that sort of behavior is generally caused by social isolation and online gaming is a flipping social activity! In other words, playing video games with a supportive group of peers is in all likelihood going to reduce the chances of a child or teenager acting violently. Why are you trying to take that away from them? Are you so bitter and utterly miserable, that you can not stomach the idea of kids having fun with friends? Well, guess what, too bad for you! Video games aren’t going anywhere, nor is online gaming. This is now the preferred form of entertainment and interaction for multiple generations worldwide! Stop living in an idealized version of the past that never existed, and deal with reality already!
