What’s worrying about this...

...is the disparity between these expressions.

Ouma simply opens his eyes, here. No indication of casually airing feelings to the void, nor any that he’s even happy. His cheerful expression from earlier has shifted dramatically, as if he’s making a declaration of intent.

Frankly, it’s unsettling. That’s Ouma’s mask in a nutshell; the person he imitates is a disturbing one, and the furthest thing from a joke. The fact that he says this alone, is a testament to how deeply serious this mask is for him, even as a lie.
