do you know of any guides to making an rp? i've tried making them in the past, but it never really seems to work out.
I could have sworn I’ve reblogged some or at least some floating around, but I can’t seem to find them or really any in the tags so I apologize for that, but here are just some tips I have. I really hope this is helpful, but if you have more questions, feel free to message me with more questions !!
Although if anyone does know of any guides please feel free to send them to me and I’ll link them !!

Come up with a plot that really interests you, and even if it’s not the most unique of plots, put your own twist on it. If it’s a plot that could be seen as a really niche or not as popular one, try to think of adding elements that would make it appeal to a larger audience.
Decide what kind of group you want be that appless, semi-appless, skeleton, bio, or otherwise. This should be your second step once you figure out the plot.
If you’re not confident in making graphics, there are tons of rph’s that do theme makeovers that will help if you submit a form requesting one!
If you’re worried about undertaking running it on your own, don’t find someone you trust to be a co-admin and work together. I find having someone to bounce ideas off to be the most helpful thing ever when creating a group.
It can be really great to have someone to hype you up too.
If you open your group and find yourself needing a co-admin, ask your members if any of them would be interested, odds are, at least one of them will have some experience and will be more than willing to help out.
This can be especially helpful if you find yourself with a large group.
Build some hype for your group. Tell people about what you have planned, get people excited. Post teasers.
Remember you have to be patient, you might not get a ton of apps right away, but send out requests for shoutouts and just promote for your group enough in the tags that people see it and hopefully gain an interest in it.
hello lexie! i'm in need of some advice, hopefully you can help me. i'm running my own rp, and have run into a bit of a problem. like most rps, formatting posts and using small / medium gifs are part of our rules. we have one member who's new to rp groups (they usually do indie). this member rps on mobile. they use tumblr gifs, so they're full-width. they use mobile fonts, and can't cut their posts. what should i do? is this justification for kicking them, or should i give them a pass? thanks!
i don’t think this is necessarily a reason to kick them. honestly, i’d talk to them and just try to use your best costumer service voice and try to explain that the aesthetic rule is there to keep the dash neat and easy for everyone to use, so them formatting posts how they are isn’t following the guidelines. if they say they don’t know how to format posts, maybe give them a basic tutorial or try helping them find gifs that aren’t huge… if they keep formatting like this, and just not listening after you try helping, then i think it would be appropriate to be like ‘if you can’t follow this rule, we’re going to have to ask you to leave the group’, but i wouldn’t use that as a first step…
Hey there, guys! I just wanted to share with you all a list of the different locations you can have if you've got a city/town roleplay! I'm in no way saying you need all of these, but here are just a few that I came up with! Hope you enjoy!
Coffee Shop(s)
Bank(s)
City Hall
Housing Authority (meaning special housing for lower income families which I believe are paid for by the states, though it could be a federal thing)
Apartment Complexes
Condos
Restaurants/Diners
Park(s)
Residential Areas (you could even divide these into upper, middle, and lower class areas)
Movie Theater
Grocery Stores
Convenience Stores
Gas Stations
Tattoo Shops
Mall
Specialty Stores
Factories
Hospital(s)
Corporate Buildings (your billionaires have to work somewhere, don't they?)
Memorials (You can make these very specific. For a special event that happened in your plot, for the founders of your town, whatever you can think of.)
Bars & Clubs
Car Dealerships
Schools & Colleges
Museums
Bookstores
Churches
Well, those are all I could think of. But I hope this helped you all in some way. Please like or reblog if it did!
