art adventure // jalex

Jude knew that there was a lot more to Alex than just art, but he also knew that art meant a lot to the man. Even though he did interior design for a living, it was clear that he was passionate about making and displaying his own personal art. He gifted Jude with a painting when they first met, and he was making another now just so Jude could preserve the memory of being in Paris with him. Alex was indescribably sweet and romantic and he’d caught Jude’s attention, even being the most timid one remaining. Something about Alex drew him in and left him constantly hoping for more.

He’d planned a date with Alex’s favorite things in mind, but also hoped to get some romance and deep conversation in there, too. He wanted to know more about who Alex was, how he became the person he is, and everything else there could possibly be to learn about him. Starting the date with an art theme would hopefully get Alex to relax and open up to Jude in the way he was hoping for. With only eight people left - that means ten had already left, a staggering thought - things were beginning to get serious. Jude waited, combing his hand through his hair in bouts of nervousness, as he waited outside the big glass pyramid of the Louvre for Alex to arrive. A predictable start, but Jude wanted to see this just as much as Alex, and it felt like a good place to begin.

If there was one person who left Jude wondering the most, it was Alex. Their meeting had been short, sweet, and to the point, but had been filled with much sentimentality. Alex had gone above and beyond, making a gift for Jude, especially one as heartfelt as a painting. He wanted to get to know this man more, to see who he was beneath the shyness, and the best way to do that was with a one on one. The date would be rather casual - further instructions after the date card told Alex to wear an outfit appropriate for the beach - so Jude dressed in kind. He wore swim shorts with a plain white v-neck tee shirt, and his hair was tied back in a messy knot, loose strands falling around his face.

He was picking Alex up at the mansion, so he waited down in the foyer for him, nervous and excited both. The most nerve-wracking thing about this date, for Jude anyway, was that he knew so little about Alex. He hoped that this date would change that. More than that, he hoped Alex enjoyed and appreciated the date Jude put together for him: he chose it all specifically to make Alex feel more relaxed and at home in a high-pressure situation. Jude took a deep breath and looked around for Alex.
