Alright so idk if this is 100% true but I read somewhere that originally Atsushi was going to be a girl Akutagawa fell in love with. Or maybe it was the other way around? But yeah

I READ THAT TOO!! I honestly believe that if the creators wanted an LGBT romance, that sskk would be the logical pairing to go! They have canon interaction, they are shown to work well together, and there are rumors like that that bring the whole deal together. (Salty moment beware): I bet if Atsushi WAS a girl they would be borderline canon. 🙄 but I guess I see parallels between them and Touken from TG, which is OBVIOUSLY a romance. The whole “Atsushi was originally going to be a girl” thing actually makes me wish that both Atsu and Aku were girls??? Because that would be so cool…. and I love wlw.
