I think Hawkfrost knew his father adored Brambleclaw more and it absolutely killed him.

i don't think tigerstar adored any of his children, but i think hawkfrost knew he was the second best-- like tiger wanted to use bramble/continue his thunderclan legacy through him and hawkfrost was his backup (and also the one who failed)

Mothwing and Hawkfrost has to be my favorite sibling duo.

hawk and moth are quite tasty-- i wish as always they were portrayed with a bit more nuance, especially on hawkfrost's side in tnp, though i think mothwing's secret ssssort of helps it? i have a lot of issues with how hawkfrost is written just in general but that's a convo for another post

what was the choice to add the scars near the bottom of blossom’s paws?

they're self harm scars-- blossomfall's defining character trait is how she believes she deserves to be in the dark forest/craves punishment for how shitty of a person she sees herself to be which definitely makes me read her as someone with self destructive/harming tendencies

What do you think of Moth Flight x Sun Shadow? If memory serves me right, they had a cute bond in Moth Flight's Vision and I just love the black cat and white cat combo. They're both related to a clan founder as well which I think is neat. I'm more of an aroace compallo Moth Flight guy myself, so I imagine it as more a QPR thing. Whatever they are I thought they had potential

I don’t have many thoughts tbh, sun shadow is a little bit of a nothing burger to me and I am unfortunately not a fan of moth flight so I can’t say it inspires much in me 😅 I don’t even remember them interacting at all. Sorry!

what do you think the clans think about queer cats? in my opinion, which is pretty obvious in most cases, the clans (especially in the earlier arcs) wouldn't be supportive or ever accept queer cats. hell, these cats banished and scorned straight cats in half-clan relationships...let's not start with cats who are aro/ace, especially she-cats... this messed up society thinks it's mandatory for a she-cat to take a mate and have kits. i also really like the idea of ravenpaw being more comfortable with his identity outside of the clans, too. but then again, i wanna hear your opinion!

It’s hard for me to say tbh. Because I really just don’t want the erins to try talking about homophobia at all whatsoever. I’m also the sort of person who gets a lot of comfort out of fictional worlds where queer people and relationships are normalized and not questioned (in some cases— it depends, but for my silly children’s cat books I think I’d want this to be the case). It’s hard to separate the authors’ biases from what we see in world though and because the clans are written without very many queer relationships and in a try heteronormative way I guess the logical assumption is that they probably wouldn’t be very supportive of anything outside that (though we don’t see any backlash to Ravenpaw and barley or Pebblenose and thrushcall so idk).

I'm pretty sure the main reason fans don't like Sunbeam is because her and Nightheart become mates in the end. I firmly believe that if the two had broken up or decided to settle on being just friends due to incompatibility, she wouldn't get so much hate

Yeah idk probably. I don’t think people hate sunbeam they just don’t think she’s interesting. I agree that her arc does fall a bit flat wrt nightheart although I actually think they did a lot better than say bristleroot. Sunbeam creates meaningful relationships outside of nightheart in ThunderClan that are really fun to see (especially with finchlight and spotfur) and her stuff with berryheart definitely doesn’t just go away when she follows nightheart. So I think she’s still really interesting even after Nightheart. I think most people tend to be focused on Frostdawn too so that might be part of it

Are you rereading the super editions as well? Or only the main arcs? Would love to know your opinion on (some of) them!

I’m rereading everything in chronological order! I made a tier ranking super editions video a while back lol but my quick opinion is that the best are tallstar’s revenge, bluestar’s prophecy, and crookedstar’s promise, and the worst are skyclan’s destiny and bramblestar’s storm. Scalding hot takes (sarcastic)

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed power of three on reread. People talk about it like it’s such a slog and yeah the first three books are a little boring but the last three are so good and I had a GREAT time with sunrise. tnp was meh. Tpb was goated I’ll always love that arc. DoTC is my dark horse I’ll always love it
