i guess owl city is coming back to atlanta, but i saw them in atlanta a year or so ago and most of the crowd was white christian moms (like, wearing matching homemade t-shirts with bible verses on them, this isn’t me making assumptions), so it was kinda an intimidating atmosphere for me and ash and i’m probably not gonna go again

#i still enjoy the music!!#well; the older music #that's another thing: he made like; three of my favorite songs into a medley instead of playing them individually #but then devoted a bunch of time to playing newer songs that were like; not very good #which is totally understandable but also not really my deal so why bother #i'll just stay home and listen to umbrella beach and cave in by myself #also really didn't like the opening singer he was touring with and she ended up coming back to sing CRJs verses on good time #and CRJ she was not #the wombats make stupid idiot music but that atmosphere was way less hostile feeling and i'd totally go see them again #whenever they come back; since they're european. we saw them at the same venue as owl city and it was a way smaller crown #*crowd #which was weird??? like; i guess owl city has actually had a couple hits but i thought the wombats would have a bigger fanbase #especially since i don't know how often they tour the US #we did run into some diehard fans of them who like; know the bandmembers by name; which is a little much for me #i'm pretty sure the stage i'm at and will be at with the wombats is: enjoying the music and not really getting invested to who is making it #especially since the dudes in the band aren't like; exceptionally interesting from what i can gather #their lyrics don't give that impression #its not really like TMBG where there's two strong voices behind p. much all the music #or bands with one main member who serves as the face of the band like death cab #or bands like the aquabats where its like; a character band; and also they just have a wild history (also the MCBC serves as the face)#also i'm just kind of wary of getting invested in real people i don't know who make the music i like. don't like being crushed #also it just isn't very healthy
