terrible parents exist both intentionally or unintentionally. and people can "care" about things in ways that are actually selfish, conditional, possessive, unhealthy, and have ulterior motives and for the personal benefit equaling in their value for it, etc

You know what? I just re-read Home Front and I really like it! I'm sad there's not more. So maybe I should just ignore the fact that of the two people who read this thing, one disappeared into Nirvana and the other moved on to other things and doesn't read my stories anymore and just write it entirely for myself.

I mean, if I set out with absolutely no hope that anyone reads it, I can't be disappointed like with other things where there's at least hope. Right?

im honestly more upset now than I was when community was cancelled
