EARTH-53 ✷ alias: mara's dc-verse
Gotham is a city on fire. On one end of town, Eddie Graves has only just finished bludgeoning his father to death with a chair leg when he hears the police sirens in the distance, and makes a run for it. At eighteen, he’s finally free of it all – free to experience the world outside of the tortuous confines of his childhood home. He just hadn’t quite anticipated how loud it all would be. Max Chase has long since stopped believing that Gotham can be saved. Not since the death of Jason. She’d spent years with Batman and his Robins, and not a damn thing had changed during any of it. Deep down, though, she must still believe in them somewhat, or she wouldn’t have brought poor Eddie to their doorstep. Then again, between tragic playboy Bruce Wayne and barely rehabilitated enemy of the people Hugo Hunt, it’s slim pickings for responsible adult men in the Gotham area. At least Bruce will clothe and feed poor Eddie before teaching him close combat. Hugo is more likely to shove a semi-automatic in his hands than a sandwich. In Metropolis, comparatively, everything is going just fine. Superman’s got it all under control. Witty Ames certainly has no major concerns, aside from her less-than-secure position as an intern at The Daily Planet, the calls from her mom she keeps declining, and her steadily increasing crush on Donna Troy, who she certainly isn’t stalking the night that she sees Donna meet up with Nightwing of all people. There’s a story there, and when Witty smells a story, she simply has to follow its trail. Trouble truly rears its head when a new villain shows up in Gotham wanting to make a name for themselves. A villain by the name of Red Hood.
