" - but then, the show pivots a bit and you start to get the feeling that maybe Ser Arlan hadn't actually knighted Dunk before he died, maybe he had meant to but never actually bestowed him with the right words, and it begs the question of if he truly is a knight then, and if it's fair of him to ask six other men to ride for him if there is a part of him however small that feels he doesn't deserve it, and it hurts because we the audience know that Duncan is the truest knight among the men in Westeros, and - " Kaz paused, glaring at Matthias, "Oi, are you even listening to me?"
Matthias nodded slowly, "Course I am."
His eyes hadn't left her, though. She had rejoined her friends at the table, her red henin bouncing animatedly from side to side as she talked. Her lips were just so lush, Matthias almost felt hypnotized by how they moved. He wanted to hear her voice again. He wanted to be sat at that table with her.
"Fuck you actually," Kaz huffed, "This is why I don't tell you my blog's name, asshole."
Immediatly Matthias's eyes snapped back to the demjin's, "I was listening, really, I swear."
Kaz made an unamused face, "Sure."
Matthias nudged his horse into a trot, circling around to stand next to Kaz properly, "I still think Ser Jamie is a better knight than Ser Dunk, but I'm not arguing that Ser Duncan's story is more fun to watch."
"You just like troublemakers," Kaz scoffed, "Your crush on Jamie doesn't absolve him of his sins, you know."
"And your crush on Dunk doesn't counteract the fact that Jamie is a deeply complex character who arguably paints the idea of what it means to be a knight in an entirely different context," Matthias retorted with a grin.
"Gag me," but now Kaz was grinning too, "I can't believe I associate with a Lannister fanboy like you."
"You love it," Matthias shrugged, "Because it counteracts the boring obsession you have with white knights."
"Forgive me for having a fondness for chivalrous men," Kaz looked him up and down pointedly.
