I could never get into gfriend and I couldn’t figure out why until someone pointed it out that they only dance to synchronize, there’s zero depth of flavor to it, they don’t even look like they’re enjoying themselves. There’s no feeling to their movements and idc how well they sing. If all they were gonna do was sing well then they should just stood there an sang.
Maybe it's just me but I thought Gfriend's latest MV was really cringey to watch.
I honestly don’t find Gfriend’s routines to actually be all that much harder than most girl groups. Red Velvet, Laboum, Blackpink, SNSD, Dreamcatcher, and, yes, After School, to name just a few, have all had at least ONE dance of comparable difficulty. Compared to Twice and a couple others, they could be considered tough but really they’re just average. I have nothing against Gfriend as a group, but let’s call a horse a horse.
Blackpink truly is the most beautiful gg right now! Their faces are kind a unique? They don’t look like other idol girls at all! Blackpink really look like super models from extremely rich families compared to the others, no hate to other girls though. Red velvet used to be the most beautiful girl group but they’re in 2nd place now. Twice aren’t as beautiful as people say, or talented, even though they’re nation’s girl group. Gfriend have normal faces, nothing really special about them.
I know gfriend is known for their dancing but at this point it’s really bland and boring to watch them perform. Like the level of synchronization they have is impressive, but that’s it. Their songs aren’t bad, but they all sound the same to me and the dances really do all look the same (with the exception of fingertip) and what I mean by that is that they use the same formation and the use of those formations is almost exactly identical from song to song. Their use of the circle while spinning or the triangle/circle formation with yuju belting out a high note. The hand movements and footwork is so close visually. Like until we get to the key choreography I could literally be watching the dance to any of their songs. I wish whoever choreographed for them would make their dances more differentiated. When I watch other groups I can tell what song I’m listening to by the dance alone. The video could be on mute and I’m just watching, and I would know. And I don’t have that experience with gfriend. Which is a shame really.
Gfriend’s latest comeback was definitely their most underwhelming one yet.
Yet again GFriend will be robbing an empty house. Their company is so shameless.
I'm bored of seeing so much about GFRIEND, like I'm not saying they're not good but in my opinion they're nothing special. I don't see the appeal.
