Happy 70th Birthday to the ever spectacular champion, *Noor! By Nasrullah and out of Queen of Baghdad, he was the first of only two horses (the other being Exceller) to ever defeat more than one Triple Crown winner. He defeated Citation four times and Assault twice, all the while breaking records in the process.

*Noor in a historical photo of his first defeat of Assault, a Triple Crown winner, in the Westwood Purse, while also setting a track record. This win would make *Noor the first horse to ever defeat two Triple Crown winners (having previously defeated Citation four times), ensuring that his name would be permanently engraved in history as one of the most unparalleled horses to ever set hoof on this earth.

Alright, let's just talk about Khozan for a second. One of the seven three-year-olds I really love this year. By Distorted Humor and out of Delta Princess, he is a half-brother to none other than Royal Delta. Through his dam, he goes back to Secretariat, Seattle Slew, AND *Noor. Three of my top favorite racehorses of all time. I cannot wait to see this boy run again. Kentucky Derby 2015 here we come?

Noor winning the Golden Gate Handicap against Triple Crown winner Citation (second), and On Trust (third). This race marked Noor's third world record in his last three starts.
"Noor's a champion. I never rode a horse who deserved that title any more, and I don't believe there's a living horse that can beat him." - Johnny Longden, Noor's jockey.
