Open RP | Mission Probable
Ping was on a mission.
What mission? To ‘scout fer possible scavengin’ spots in the City’, as the engineer told Ping. Ruta couldn’t make the trip himself, as he was once again arms deep in Big Blue and pulling on one wire or another, the Guardian shooting off worrying sparks. So here Ping was.
The tiny cloth fish flitted over the Pink Sands, gliding through the sky in a cloud filled with Ping’s brethren, their combined energies keeping the group afloat. Ruta gave Ping an extra boost of the mystical energy earlier this morning, so that Ping can have the strength to get to the Sunken City and back to the Broken Bridges, but rather than deplete Ping’s resources, Ping decided to hitch a ride with the other creatures. Free transportation and more energy for Ping. Ping congratulated Ping on Ping’s smarts.
The cloud's been making decent headway for the past twenty minutes, as the creatures were about more than halfway past the desert. Edges of the Sunken City could be seen in the distance, shimmering like a mirage in the afternoon heat. Ping figured this would be a good time to separate from the group; Ping had more than enough energy to do what Ping had to do, plus extra energy to search longer than usual. Maybe even find things for Ruta to use! He would be pleased.
Saying goodbye in that particular language all the cloth beings shared, the fish disengaged and began to descend into the Sands, catching the edge of a breeze and zipping off in the direction of the City. It was a brisk gust, with Ping only having to release energy every few minutes or so to stay upright. It was to be smooth sailing all the way through.
Until a cross-breeze shot through out of nowhere, twisting Ping’s tail and sending the cloth creature into a spiral. Loud, tinny pings of protest could be heard as Ping tumbled end over end, swiveling and flipping and generally turning into a cloth pretzel as Ping fell downwards. Thankfully, it didn’t last long, as Ping was forced into a stop thanks to smacking against someone’s head.
