 The point of a writer isn’t to make loveable characters, it is to make people feel things, and those ‘things’ won’t always be positive emotions.

 At the same time this doesn’t mean that anyone who suffers from pyromania will behave like Steel -they are a fictional character and you’ll have to keep that into consideration. This is a fictional portrayal of the illness that is based on internet sources. Yes, some points might be accurate but there will certainly be things that do not apply to real life individuals. Please treat everyone who suffers from mental illnesses -no matter their nature- with the respect and kindness they deserve.

// Yes hello, veeeery smol post I wanted to make here because of something that was mentioned in one of my friends’ blogs and also because I’ve never taken the time to explain this.

 Well...I did make this post a while back and I’ve also dropped hints throughout the blog but anyway here goes;

 Steelio. Is not. a gurl. Yes. I know I use she/her all the time and rarely go with them but there’s a reason for that and the reason is as follows:

 It wouldn’t be realistic at all for a sixteen year old person (aka in the middle of their teens aka knee deep in biological confusion) that had a horrible upbringing in poor conditions and completely neglected and then fell down a hole in a world where everyone wanted to kill them to have heard of, read up on, understood, had the time or the reason to question their assigned gender. Gender is such a personal and complex thing for most people that it takes a lot of time to sit back and think to yourself in order to figure out what’s going on with you. And that’s what usually happens with people who had average lives and go through the process of self-discovery; now imagine you grow up thinking that you’re just ‘born bad’ and ‘born wrong’. There’s been no reason whatsoever so far for Frisk to come forth and say ‘hey you know what i don’t feel like a girl tbh’.

 In the Future verse of course as I’d mentioned in that post I’d made, I only use they/them pronouns because I’m assuming that in the process of years on the surface they would have figured out their identity -or at least be on the track of figuring it out.

 Anyway what I want to say with this post is that it’s okay if your muses get confused about these things, it’s natural and realistic bc it happens in real life too sometimes. Misgendering from muse to muse is completely okay with me whether it is considered an insult or not. What bothers me is when muns misgender muses because it makes me feel like you’ll just go ahead and assume things about the characters without having read their about pages or the content/headcanons related to them on the blog. And I think that’s not very nice to do when I always go through my partner’s stuff to read up on their muses.

tl;dr: Steelio is not a girl. You may continue using she/her in the Main Verse, please refrain from doing it in the Future Verse though. It’s okay if you slip sometimes, I understand and will let you know. Sorry for the confusion.

@dancingkindness ((I’m sorry for tagging you but I think your PSA was very interesting and also something that needs to be out there. I’d have replied but what I had to say was too long for that XD))

So I believe unless someone is rping a character that is actually suffering from these mental illnesses they should refrain from using them, as that is just ignorance and also stigmatizing irl people who suffer from these things.

 I have an irl friend who is a sociopath and trust me, he’s one of the nicest people I know. Sociopaths and psycopaths aren’t evil, they aren’t ‘bad people’, they’re just sick and because of that think differently. And I don’t think the media stigma is helping them cope with their disorders as well -which is very sad because having to cope with what they do is probably a big day to day struggle. There is no thing such as evil people, monsters are born in malfunctioning societies.

 And another thing; I believe all people who want to rp as someone who has one or more mental diseases should put a lot of time and research into these diseases first. I am really sick and tired of people posing as muses that suffer from schizophrenia or PTSD without having a clue how these things are like in real life and just spreading stigma and ignorance.

Edited: after a friend of mine pointed out that ‘sociopathy’ is not the actual diagnosis, it’s what my group of friends -ages 19-23 and not a single one of us involved in medical stuff- call what this particular friend of mine has. I’ve read online that the diagnosis is given for Antisocial Personality Disorder, which is probably what his therapist told him. My only information on that was through the friend group anyway, so I wouldn’t know.

So ... how will things proceed with Steel now? Is Kather just erased from existence with everyone forgetting him?

// I think that’d be a very cruel thing to do to the muses and my friend. The verse will remain as it is and closed off for interactions. I would never delete the stories me and my friend wrote or make the muses forget about Kits children because for one thing it would kill my muse for Steel and for another it’d be disrespectful and ungrateful to Kit and all the wonderful times they gave me. The other verses will run normally but Kather and Veasna’s will remain on the blog as it is.
