// >_> Now because I’d mentioned something about my opinion on branding muses with mental illnesses in the past I felt like I should clear up Steel’s case a bit since they’re the only one on the blog with an illness I have named so far.
So, a small disclaimer: I’m not an expert, not a psychiatrist, have no foundation for my limited knowledge of psychology other than what I have read on online sources (aka the internet). I’ll list the sources I’ve based a majority of Steel’s portrayal as an individual that suffers from pyromania. That said, the illness in itself is not used to ‘justify’ the character’s actions, not used to imply that I condone in any of these actions or that the character themself is ‘innocent’.

At the same time this doesn’t mean that anyone who suffers from pyromania will behave like Steel -they are a fictional character and you’ll have to keep that into consideration. This is a fictional portrayal of the illness that is based on internet sources. Yes, some points might be accurate but there will certainly be things that do not apply to real life individuals. Please treat everyone who suffers from mental illnesses -no matter their nature- with the respect and kindness they deserve.
