There are a lot of examples for this and it's hard to pick just one, but the one that springs to mind the most rn is Steven Universe. I've never seen a better character arc than what he went through and he might just be my fave main character in anything ever.

I feel like it's probably Maui/Tamatoa in terms of sheer "would make someone scream wtf???" ship. But when it comes to something that's crack due to the characters not having any interactions at all, then I used to ship Manic/Bunnie Rabbot as a kid, but I don't now. I feel like answering crossover ships is cheating, but I'm currently fleshing out a BBC Merlin x Umbrella Academy AU and trying to decide what I want to ship between klaus/gwaine and klaus/lancelot.

what is your absolute favorite ship?That is an answer that changes too often for me to keep track. Iāve reached the stage where Iāve just accepted that I donāt have one ultimate favourite ship that I love the most above all others, thatās just not how my special interests work. Instead I have a lot of ships that I love and sometimes I love one more intensely than the others for a while.Right now, the ship that I feel the most intensely about involves two OCs from my RPs with @starryamber - Katsuki/Daichi. It was basically just me taking my favourite character from Sonic Underground (Manic) and pairing him with my favourite character from SatAM Sonic (Bunnie) because I thought they were both frickinā COOL and that was enough reason for me to want to imagine them in a relationship. It wasnāt very deep.But then I got into YGO and that led me to my first proper OTP, where I was mostly invested specifically in a ship in the same sense Iād probably think of as shipping. And Iām sure a lot of you know that this ship was Yami/Seto or Prideshipping and all its variations. Iām not actually sure any more if they were truly my first mlm ship, looking back at things logically that mightāve actually been Chris/Wesker from Resident Evil, but Yami/Seto were THE ONE. They are the standard for what level of obsession my other ships have to reach to achieve the OTP status. And more than ten years later, DSoD gave me the ending for them that young baby Sam craved so badly. So my most hated ship of all time is probably Tender////shipping or Yami Bakura/Ryou Bakura from Yu-Gi-Oh. With most other ships I dislike, I can either sayĀ āOkay, but thereās this other angle of it that maybe I donāt dislike as muchā, but not for this one. The thing is, when I dislike a ship itās usually because that ship has the potential for abuse (either mental or physical) that gets glossed over either by canon or fandom. But with Tendership, it wasnāt the potential for abuse it was actual abuse. Right there in the canon. Both physical and mental. Yami Bakura put his host through torture. And for me personally, that doesnāt sit well.But the part that bothers me the most is where people gloss it over, pretend it never happened or even try to warp it to say that Yami Bakura was caring for Ryou instead of actively harming him. Because the thing is, if someone was to say to me that they like this ship but they accept there are massive problems with it, then Iād have a lot of respect for that person, even if I still couldnāt like this ship myself. Itās the ignoring the abuse that bothers me. Or at least thatās what many vocal fans of this ship were like when I was active in the YGO fandom. But that hasnāt been since GX finished airing, so hopefully the Tendership fandom has changed since then? I mean, all of us had pretty problematic opinions in the early days lol.Anyway, all of this makes it sound like I have super strong feelings on this ship, when actually I donāt. I havenāt thought about it in a long time tbh, itās just what came to mind when I was trying to think of the ship I disliked the most.
