ㅤThe wording of the sentence is what has him immediately looking up from his book - because this isn't Shisui's usual way of speaking. In fact, it sounds far more like Itachi himself asking a question. More often than not, Shisui would drop from the heavens above instead, with no previous warning, and speak immediately without even asking first. And then people wonder why he's paranoid. Closing the book after placing the bookmark in place, he gives his friend his undivided attention.
