i’m fully aware it was just an accidental result of the ds9 writers being inconsistent and unable to settle on a clear picture of julian’s character but it never fails to entertain me how he tells like 5 distinctly different versions of his backstory and why he became a doctor etc etc over the course of the series. arguably perfect
kira nerys is not a mean lesbian she’s a nice one. way nicer than than you deserve to be honest with everything she’s had to put up with
the humour of the ds9 season 3 episode ‘fascination’ arises from its plot of multiple characters becoming inexplicably and irresistibly attracted to people who it would be ridiculous for them to be in a relationship with, something that never happens in star trek normally,
you’re not a real star trek fan until you start claiming that one day you’re going to learn how to professionally sew so you can make yourself your own starfleet uniform and presumably wear it to a con where you will receive endless compliments on your creation

I recently bought this audio cassette recording of the ‘Emissary’ novelisation read by Nana Visitor (Kira) - still in its original plastic from 1993 and essentially brand new. It took me an embarrassingly long time to work out how to insert a cassette tape properly and even longer to figure out how to rewind one so I could capture this video (turns out it’s not as simple as just pressing stop and then start again. This is what happens when you grow up in the CD/DVD era). Pretty cool, and I love that Visitor is the narrator.
janeway is so funny because literally who does this. who stands in a lift like this. a woman who knows how to make an entrance that’s who
