This was nothing like a normal awakening. Unconsciousness held to him with claws of time, digging into his being. He tried to fight past it, to rejoin the waking world, feeling for reality, separated from him by the thick curtain of darkness that deadened his senses and sought to deny him the resurgence of life. He mentally bared his teeth, prepared to struggle until he won, but he had no strength. A thousand years of unmoving slumber had left him without even the strength granted to a newborn.
Fen'Harel wakes from uthenara into a world unlike anything he had expected. It is a nightmare he never imagined. Now he must gather his strength, for the world is wrong, and must be put to rights.
