👀 + the monster hunters? (I hope I remembered the name correctly!!!)
oh hell yeah, okay let's do this;
Lukas is such a delight to be around, and he always has been. he was very much the class clown in high school and everyone who meets him just kind of likes him, because that's the kind of energy he carries with him. it's humanly impossible to have a serious conversation with him, though, which is why most people don't stick around him for too long. the only reason he asks Colin to go to Italy with him in the first place is because he was planning to travel with his then-best friend who he had a huge falling out with. he's never been friends with anyone for very long because he refuses to take things seriously.
Ines is only really taking a gap year because she didn't get into the design school of her dreams. they told her she had no 'vision' and it was honestly the most awful thing anyone has ever said to her. she's not really a bitch she's just shielded honestly, and that critique is one of the main reasons why. she wanted to travel to expand her vision but she has a hard time opening up to others, so the whole 'expanding' isn't going to well for her.
Joey was raised by a mom and dad who loved her — and each other — a whole lot. She has an older sister who's already out of college who calls her at least once a week to check in. By any and all definitions, Joey grew up in a loving household and she mostly had an easy childhood. Of course, it's never easy to discover your attracted to girls when you're young, even in the most loving households. It isn't until Joey starts to travel that she realizes that it's just girls for her, and she starts planning how she's going to come out to her parents once she gets home.
Colin deals with a lot during the story. worst of all, he gets semi-possessed by a demon and basically loses control over his own body for large parts of the story. it's sort of like being a werewolf, but with demonic possession. Colin is one of the smartest people around, and he very quickly learns how he can use this in his—and the group's—advantage. what he doesn't tell all of them is just how badly it hurts him, all of the time. he's really afraid to lose these new friends he's made so he'll keep smiling through the pain 'till the point that it almost kills him.
Mia is basically Lukas if he was a woman, honestly. she's extremely bubbly and happy all of the time, which is how she makes a ton of friends everywhere she goes and how she gets invited to the party that changes all of their lives. throughout the story she becomes really involved in researching the demons and tries to help Colin out as much as she can because, while she won't admit it, she feels like everything that happens to them is her fault. when uh, [spoilers] happen she completely caves in on herself to a point where it really seems like she's never going to forgive herself for things that were completely outside of her own control.
