Reading Queen Henrietta Maria’s letters regarding baby Charles II is a cute experience. I mean, she often calls him “ugly and large” but one has to remember she was only 19-20 when Charles was born and he was the first child (save for a baby that had only lived a few hours) that she’d ever had.
