Just went an watched parts of the Mid-month challenge (for research purposes) you know what that means...

Analysis time!!! + a theory/fun concept!

Ive spoken about how Midas never technically stopped being Quixis, so now I want to yap about their behaviour specifically.

When Midas was Quixis, they lived through Icarus, especially when they couldn't bring them in, i like to think Midas unknowingly picked up a few traits of his too.

Icarus' pattern of ignoring/denial is one of them, almost.

When seeing the decay/wack, Midas ignored it and checked on the people, but unlike Icarus, they eventually circled back, but they made sure the people were gone first. They even saw it it, and you can see them hesitate before going towards the competitors, making them go back to spawn.

Its not until theyre alone with Rael in the arena, they express concern and their anxieties.

But no time to dwell on it too much, they have elytra to hand out!

They've done this a couple times before (ignored the problem to assure the nation) and its sad that Midas is a bit performative.

They play the role of Fun Game Host, check on their builds, tease some choas, but as soon as they're alone, they let their worries show.

In a way I think its them being protective, but the nation obviously knows about it. Midas just hopes and prays the affects aren't like last time.

And the unknown is worse, because as Midas said, they're doing a good job! (And they are) so what could they possibly be doing wrong?

But left (almost) alone to work out how to keep things safe and in control to make sure multiple lives stay safe, with no real guidence or confirmation if they're doing the right thing or not... where has that story been heard before?

Which bring sme to a theory/concept:

I have no idea what Sherb is building up to in terms of lore, or if these are just considered connected one-shot type of things, but something fun could be:

Midas is unintentionally doing all of this.

Midas has to build the world up each time and itd be interesting if things like the decay was put into it without them realising.

When creating something, people usually tend to say that 'part of me went into this'

What if that was literally the case for Midas? They worry about the decay coming back so the decay is unintentionally coming back to the world, not the same, but there.

They miss their home, so the city looks like identical white buildings (like how things were in their world - I believe this is confirmed by Sherb?)
