ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤfeigns a dramatic wince, dragging out the hissed ‘ ooo ’ as they rounded the corner. he’d seen the sensation that was twilight, and while he didn’t have a particular bone to pick with it, it always irked him that they got so many things wrong. but what was he supposed to do ? show up at the writers & authors doors and say ‘ hey, i’m a real vampire, here’s a list of your mistakes, idiots ! ’ ? while tempting, didn’t bode well for his privacy and life. stops at the tiny coffee shop, facing the girl. it’s a lovely place, something he would have imagined she'd pick out, and a smile curved his lips at the confirmation that she was exactly how he imagined when he’d seen her. ❝ yeah, well that’s what happens when you don’t have anything going on in your life. ❞ offers a lighthearted shrug, matching the easy laugh between them. but that sweet band aid is quickly torn off when she says her name. too sweet to the ears, but sends something twisting down his stomach. a sudden set of nausea overcomes him, and he has to take a notable step back. what were the chances … the same name ? the same face ? it’s enough to catch him off guard and he has to quickly compose himself ; schooling features back into one of impasse, but the shock still lingers in his eyes. ❝ rafe. ❞ tone calm as can be — but he needs to get the fuck out of here. right now. figure this shit out. ❝ cassandra. that’s a lovely name — and this is a lovely shop … but i’ve just realized i needed to go pick up that cousin i mentioned. maybe you can [ … ] show me this shop another time, yeah ? ❞
He was staring again, and he knew he was. He just didn’t care, and there was no reason for him. If a man wanted to stare at his husband in his own home, he damn well should. Creepy be damned, or maybe it was because sketch book currently occupied his lap, and he was a mess of charcoal dust and lazy Sunday concentration. The corner of an unsure grin was obvious, knowing he had been caught in the act. “Don’t look at me like that.” He mentioned. “It’s distracting.” Head dipped down before temptation could be indulged, or so he liked to think. @flowerdsouls

“Delgado—-” Zoe plopped down on the chair opposite his, a crooked, unreadable smile on her lips as she gathered her hands in front of her on the table. “I thought that was you... I wasn’t sure though— you look a lot worse than usual. Let me guess; hungover on a Monday, hm?” She chuckled, clearly teasing, but at least in a nicer way than she would have a couple of years ago.

Bringing Mia with him all around town was proving to be a little bit more fun every time—- mostly because she was getting older and a lot more curious to the point of finding everything interesting now, which in turn meant she didn’t cry or fuss. It was a win/win, especially when he needed to run a few errands around town anyway. Strapped to his chest, she was having the time of her life, smiling at strangers, flapping her arms and legs about and making eyes at every damn dog she could find. She liked people; she always had, and it seemed even the Delgado charm wasn’t lost on her, because as soon as she noticed Rafe a few steps from them somewhere on Main Street, she was already vying for his attention, babbling about, hands flailing. “Oh, hey...” Adam grinned lightly, stopping once they were a bit closer. “How’re you doing? Heard your place was hit on Valentine’s.... I’m sorry man, that sucks.”

Being from North End wasn’t easy these days, especially not after Ophelia’s name had surfaced in the news, naming her as one of the first two persons of interest in the whole Rose Syndicate debacle. And every time there was a knock on her door, or an unexpected sound from outside, Ophelia almost expected it to be someone who wanted to yell at her, or accuse her of somehow being the whole mastermind behind the thing. It upset her, clearly because she had nothing to do with it, but also because a big part of her was proud of being from this side of town; she’d witnessed a tight-knit community here growing up, and all this horrible stuff that had been going on lately, didn’t reflect that at all, and there was only so much she could do to make people believe her, unfortunately. So it was with careful steps she walked towards the door upon the second knock, nimble fingers unlocking the door but leaving the chain on. She peered out and saw— “Rafe?” She looked at him through the allotted space, clearly surprised to see him, and quick to close the door to slide off the chain so she could open it fully. “What’re you doing here?”
