Someone drew their character in a “I’m not a girl but my boyfriend is” t-shirt on Twitter and it made me want to get one that says “I’m not a boy but my girlfriend is” for my girlfriend. She doesn’t like to wear t-shirts, other than to sleep, but I think it would be cute.

today's observation:

there's a very interesting thing where Leah is, I think, yearning to be more out in the "front" (quotes because it's less of a fronting situation for me but it's also a quick shorthand for the type of feeling she's being), but she's also the one who's least developed? she's pure yearning and if I were to assign us mental ages she'd be a high school teen. meanwhile Maya, arguably the most developed part outside of Lily, hates being at the "front" and overall would prefer to go "dormant" again I think. but she's also the self-assigned protector and she "awoke" only because she felt like we were in danger, and we can't seem to shake that feeling off regardless of if it's actually true. so we cope.

I believe we have things to do today that I’ll probably leave front for, but before I go, a word:

I wonder if we’ll have time to go foraging tomorrow. The weekends are just as busy for us, but it would be nice to go find some leaves and mushrooms to make prints with. That was wonderful, last time we did it. I remember the syskids rather enjoyed it, and I believe we still have some of those old prints.

My gender and sexuality are complicated in ways that make people who are resistant to the deconstruction of cisheteronormativity very angry. This is not my problem. Sometimes even other people like me, other lesbians and nonbinary folk, will feel threatened by my identity. This isn’t my problem either. I am radiant. I am perfect and whole this way. My life and identity does not fit the social construction that most people are raised to operate from the assumption of, and my existence is still far more than just a political statement. I am just as much a man as any other man and just as much a woman as any other woman, and I am beautiful. I am a lesbian, and I am beautiful. The trans lesbians who fought for me to exist are proud of me. I am thankful for the path they made for queers like us.

Esme

Last night my step auntie finally had her baby, a little girl called Esme. I think I’m actually a little bummed out that if I ever had a daughter I now can’t call her Esme… Anyway, I just feel like I had to share the fact that this baby is really cute and that I wish I had a baby! Or a pet… I just want to name something! I’m getting a pet.
