Replaying FFVIIR on hard, I feel like Sephiroth spends this entire game wanting Cloud to hurry up and become AC!Cloud already. He alternates between urging Cloud to get stronger, trying to get Cloud to remember that they’re obsessed with each other, and trying to say things that AC!Cloud would want to hear like “I too would like to save your Planet.”
Goddamit, Sephiroth, you are so bad at being the main character in a time travel fix-it fanfiction. This is why Aerith says that you’re everything wrong with the world.
