theres smth poetic abt this: if dabi is todobro then his entire existence is built on quirk being priority. so he has to push himself to master his flames no matter what. dabi sees subaru as his equal despite his human limitations, but sub sees past all that power to see dabis human limitations. but thats ok. theres nothing wrong with being weak. sub prob felt that way his whole life. dabi makes sub feel strong abt his skill while sub convinces dabi to feel ok with asking for help sometimes

also not to bring this back to tddk, but it can also kinda parallel izuku’s constant knack for shouldering things alone and shouto’s desire to comfort and help him in whatever small ways he can... and shouto’s own issues w/ his identity and izuku helping shouto realize his own self worth outside of what his father has dictated for him his entire life..
