41, 45 and 99 for the ask game!
Thanks for asking!!
41. What fundamentally matters do you?
Family and striving for growth! I feel like the first is pretty straight-forward, but the second is something equally as important to me. I love learning (I’m a teacher–ha!) and I truly think it is our duty to be life-long learners. Then, I believe we should take the things we learn and apply them to our own lives and challenge ourselves/each other to be better and be more. My idea of morality is very based in this idea. It’s hard for me to watch people just kind of complacently move through life without striving toward goodness and helping others.
45. Do you want to be remembered after your death? What for?
This feels silly to say, but honestly yeah. As a kid, I was a huge dreamer who wanted to be remembered for everything. But these days, social justice is incredibly important to me and that’s something that I would love to leave some sort of legacy about. Specifically, I teach in a Title I school (for non-Americans, that’s a school that is underprivileged and underserved...so think super low socioeconomic status students) and I’ve watched some of my students’ lives change. I’m not so prideful as to think that’s all me because it takes a village, but I do believe I’ve found my calling and I would love for teachers of the future to learn from my experiences.
99. Do you believe in magic? Are you superstitious?
Honestly...I don’t and I’m not. But I wish my answer was different.
