“Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking” (Susan Cain)
So I finally read the book everyone is raving about (at least in my environment) and I have to say that I love it. It really helped me understand some parts of my own behavior better and gave me a different perspective on things. As I highly recommend it , I wanted to share some quotes from the book here to. <3 “They (Introverts) listen more than they talk, think before they speak, and often feel as if they express themselves better in writing than in conversation.” ☑ “They prefer to devote their social energies to close friends, colleagues, and family.” ☑ ““The other thing Aron found about sensitive Introverts is that sometimes they're highly empathic. It's as if they have thinner boundaries separating them from other people's emotions and from the tragedies and cruelties of the world.” ☑ “Introverts, in contrast, may have strong social skills and enjoy parties and business meetings, but after a while wish they were home in their pajamas.” #exactly! “Many have a horror of small talk, but enjoy deep discussions.” ☑ “Introverts recharge their batteries by being alone; extroverts need to recharge when they don’t socialize enough.” ”“Introverts feel “just right” with less stimulation, as when they sip wine with a close friend, solve a crossword puzzle, or read a book. Extroverts enjoy the extra bang that comes from activities like meeting new people, skiing slippery slopes, and cranking up the stereo.” ☑ ““Now that you're an adult, you might still feel a pang of guilt when you decline a dinner invitation in favor of a good book. Or maybe you like to eat alone in restaurants and could do without the pitying looks from fellow diners. Or you're told that you're "in your head too much", a phrase that's often deployed against the quiet and cerebral. “ #yes “INTROVERTS are especially vulnerable to challenges like marital tension, a parent’s death, or abuse. They’re more likely than their peers to react to these events with depression, anxiety, and shyness.” ☑ “The same person who would never raise his hand in a lecture hall of two hundred people might blog to two thousand, or two million, without thinking twice. The same person who finds it difficult to introduce himself to strangers might establish a persence online and then extend these relationships into the real world.” ☑ Hellooo ? The Pete noticed a beautiful girl that you're in a dire situation milady. *tries not to fall off his cow*
[Looks up from the work she is hastily pursuing.] I’m sorry? [She looks around.] Did somebody say something? [She catches sight of a cow. And the young man on it’s back. Her eyes widen in surprise.] Hello?
