Hero rushed over, dropping to their knees, “nonono- no, Sidekick get up, please! Please I can’t do this without you, kid, get.UP!”

Tears fall, rolling down their cheeks and landing on sidekicks body. Sidekick looked up at Hero, jaw trebling as they cry,

“Please… please I don’t wanna die.. I’m scared hero, please-“

“Shhh, sh I know bud, you’re not gonna die, alright?” Hero’s hand flies to put even more pressure on the wound.

Hero moves the two so that sidekick lay into them. Blood rolls from their mouth, dripping down their chin as they shakily smile, “I-I did good right?”

Hero has to stop themself from sobbing as they silently nod, “You did, kid, you got Villain, I’m- so proud of you, alright?”

Hero sees how sidekicks smile is genuine for a moment but what they’ll never forget is how their eyes glossed over, their body going limp in Hero’s arms and a gut wrenching scream rips from Hero’s throat as they desperately clawed at sidekick, begging them desperately to get up- to wake up.

But sidekick never moved.
